Parker Garage Fire

At 17:41 on November 23rd, 2020 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to reports of an explosion at home on Needlegrass Ct. in Parker. 911 callers heard the explosion, saw broken glass in the street and damage to the garage door. Neighbors used a fire extinguisher to control a small fire in the garage and assisted one of the home’s occupants to safety. When Firefighters arrived, they observed light smoke around the garage and obvious damage. Crews advanced a hose line into the garage and confirmed the fire was extinguished, they also searched the home and verified no one else was inside and the fire had not extended. One person was transported to the hospital for evaluation, 3 pets were inside the home at the time and were uninjured. Fire Investigators, Building Department, electrical and gas company representatives verified that there was no damage to the structure or utilities, so the residents were safe to stay in their home. Investigators were unable to determine what caused the fire and explosion to occur. Additional information was provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
