North Central Brush Fire

On August 9th, 2025 at 13:48 North Central Fire Protection District was alerted to a small brush fire near County Rd. 150 and County Rd. 85 at 13:48 and mutual-aid resources were immediately requested from Agate Fire Protection District, Elbert Fire Protection District and Kiowa Fire Protection District. Upon arrival, Chief 240 sized up a 3-acre vegetation fire with a moderate rate of spread and County Rd. 150 acting as a firebreak to contain the heads from spreading. Brush 223 and Brush 242 worked on initial containment and were assisted by Tender 231 and Brush 243 (shown as Rattlesnake Brush 254). No structures were threated, and forward progress was stopped at 14:25. Crews remained on scene firming up containment lines and performing extensive mop up.
