Agate Fire Protection District
Agate Fire Protection District (AFPD), all-volunteer department covering 400 square miles in Elbert & Douglas Counties (Colorado) including the areas of Ball Reservoir, Buick, Cedar Point, East Godfrey Gulch & River Bend. Agate Fire Protection District is the only district in Elbert County that covers the I-70 corridor. (FDID #03905)
Agate Fire Protection District officially started in 1950 as the Agate Rural Volunteer Fire Department, In 2009 the community served by Agate Rural Volunteer Fire Department voted to become the Agate Fire Protection District.
