Adams County Residential Fire

On November 9th, 2025 around 01:50 Adcom 911 dispatched Adams County Fire Rescue, North Metro Fire Rescue District and Thornton Fire Department a structure fire in the 800 block of Bronco Rd. in Western Hills. Engine 14 arrived on scene to a working fire from the Charlie side in a single-family residential and pulled a line in for fire control and primary search with a possible party trapped inside. Engine 13 secured the water supply to Engine 14 and Medic 13 as rehab. Battalion 11 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy on the Charlie-Delta corner. Crews worked heavy fire on the Charlie side which spread to the interior of the structure and to the attic space. Xcel was requested with powerlines down in the backyard. The fire was put under control and crews worked on the overhaul. There were two fatalities as well as a dog that passed away. Investigators have determined the fire originated on the wooden deck on the rear of the home. The suspected cause of the fire was determined to be a fire pit placed on a combustible surface.
