Freight Elevator Technical Rescue

On December 9th, 2025 at 14:28 South Adams County Fire Department responded to a parties trapped in an elevator at 4545 E. 64th Ave. in Commerce City. Adcom 911 advised that two individuals were trapped inside a freight elevator between floors 4 and 6. Engine 22 arrived and started the investigation and requested Tower 24 to the scene. With the investigation a technical rescue response was requested with a blind shaft elevator rescue. Crews executed rescue operations, rappelling approximately 40 feet to access the freight elevator and rescued the two parties.
