West Metro Vegetation Fire

On December 25th, 2025 at 15: 49 West Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a vegetation fire in the 6600 block of S. Ward St. in the Dakota Ridge area. Jeffcom 911 advised that 911 caller reporting that the fire slow moving to the east towards the Peak Community & Wellness Center. SAM 2 arrived on scene with Jefferson County Sheriff deputies using fire extinguishers and the fire was mostly out. Engine 13 and Brush 13 arrived to a small slow moving vegetation fire near the edge of a parking lot. District 3 arrived and assumed command. Crews quickly knocked down the flames, and ensured that no underlying embers were still burning, as to ensure the fire would not rekindle. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
