Aurora Residential Structure Fire

At 21:56 on February 9th, 2026 Aurora Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire in the 12000 block of E. Nevada Place. Aurora 911 advised that 911 caller reporting the house was on fire and the call was upgraded to a working structure fire. Engine 4 arrived to a one-story single-family with heavy fire and smoke showing from the garage and pulled attack line in. Engine 2 secured the water supply and pulled a 2nd line off Engine 4 and Engine 8 secured their own water supply and pulled a line. Ladder 2 started the primary search and Battalion 2 assumed command. While crews were working to control the garage fire, they discovered fire in the attic. Ladder 8 then went to the roof and conducted vertical ventilation. During the primary search Ladder 2 located a dog, which unfortunately did not make it. The fire was placed under control within 30 minutes after the initial 911 call. None of the residents sustained any injuries and had all self-evacuated the home prior to firefighters arrival.  There was major fire damage to the entire residence and the fire is under in investigation. One adult and five children were displaced and the American Red Cross is assisting. Additional information provided by Aurora Fire Rescue
