Ice Rescue Training Day 2
On February 5th, 2026 West Metro Fire Rescue conducted their 2nd day of ice rescue training at Crown Hill Park, 9357 W. 26th Ave. in in Wheat Ridge. This annual training provides fire and rescue crews to hone their skills and, while wearing rescue suits, and rescuing portrayed victims in very fringed waters. Crews were rotated throughout the morning and early afternoon, saving makeshift scenario victims being trapped on the ice, and others who have fallen through the ice. This regular training in ponds, lakes and reservoirs prepares fire and rescue crews, in the event of an actual emergency.
