Loveland Scenic Valley Structure Fire
On April 28th at approximately 7:40 p.m., Loveland Fire Rescue Authority responded to a reported residential structure fire at 1669 Scenic Valley Drive. While enroute, Battalion 41 noted a visible smoke column from several miles out.
Engine 43 arrived on scene to find a working fire involving a medium-sized, two‑story single-family home. Fire was showing from the garage with extension into the attic space. Engine 43 completed a 360-degree assessment, declared an offensive strategy, and briefly contacted the homeowners, confirming all occupants had safely evacuated. Crews initiated fire attack and secured a water supply from a nearby hydrant.
Upon the arrival of Battalion 41, command was upgraded and the strategy transitioned to defensive due to significant attic involvement and moderate to high wind conditions. Multiple hoselines were deployed for fire attack, while Rescue 42 and Tower 46 supported operations by providing access and elevated vantage points for hose streams.
The fire was brought under control in just over one hour. Crews remained on scene throughout the night and into the following day conducting overhaul and monitoring for hot spots. One firefighter was evaluated for a minor injury.
