Denver 2nd Alarm Apartment Fire

Around 14:20 on May 13th, 2026 Denver Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment complex in the 8500 block of E. Hampden Ave. for a reported structure fire. First arriving units came on scene to heavy fire showing throughout the second floor and upgraded the incident to a 2nd alarm. Residents were evacuated with one injury reported from the fire. The patient was transported to an area hospital by Denver Health Paramedics. Crews worked on hotspots and overhaul operations for an extended time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
