Adams County Haz-Mat Team
Adams County Haz-Mat Team (Adams County Hazardous Response Team) was located in Adams County (Colorado) and established in the 1980’s.
In August of 1995 a significant hazardous materials incident that took place in Adams County and mutual-aid was requested from Jefferson County Hazardous Material Response Team. This joint effort was a major factor in the successful mitigation of the incident. After this event, the two County Haz-Mat Boards met to discuss how they each could provide better service to their members as well as the population as a whole, while operating more cost effective and efficiently. There was also a desire to operate in a more dynamic yet safe environment. This lead to a decision to operate the two teams jointly.
In October of 1997, a intergovernmental agreement was established with the Adams and Jefferson County Hazardous Response Authority (AJCHRA).
In 2005, the Adams and Jefferson County Hazardous Response Authority (AJCHRA) disbanded and both were separated into the Adams/Broomfield HAZMAT Authority and Jefferson County Hazardous Authority.
