West Metro Back Country Rescue

On May 23rd 2026 at 15:29 West Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a back country rescue at the Mount Falcon Park, 17999 Forest Ave. in Morrison. Jeffcom 911 advised that a hiker was 200 yards up on the Castle Trail by the Turkey Trot Trail and a Jefferson County Open Space Park Ranger with the patient. District 2 arrived and assumed command in the parking lot and SAM 2 went up on the trail with Engine 9. Crews located the victim on the hiking trail with a left leg injury and the the patient was quickly rescued and transported to a local hospital.
