Castle Rock Reported House Fire

At 20:38 on May 24th, 2026 Castle Rock Fire Rescue Department and South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported house fire on Golden Valley Trail after a 911 caller reported a fire in the laundry room. First arriving Engine 154 sized up a medium two-story house with nothing showing. Engine 154 and Medic 154 stretched a dry cross lay to the front door and assisted an elderly resident and her dogs to safety. Battalion 151 assumed command and assigned Quint 151 to investigate the interior while Engine 155 conducted a 360º which revealed a basement and no other hazards. Engine 39 secured a water supply to Engine 154 and crews inside completed a primary search, finding a light haze in the first-floor laundry room. After further investigation found no fire or active smoke conditions, the incident was placed under control. Additional information provided by Castle Rock Fire Rescue
