Grand Junction Structure Fire

At approximately 10:45 am, the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire on the 890 block of Quail Run Drive. Multiple 9-1-1 callers reported an active fire and a large column of black smoke visible from the area. The first arriving crews initiated an aggressive interior attack through the front entrance but encountered intense heat and heavy fire conditions. Due to the volume of fire, incident command transitioned operations to a defensive strategy focused on preventing the fire from spreading to nearby trees and neighboring homes. Firefighters successfully contained the fire to the property of origin. Additional information provided by the Grand Junction Fire Department
