Thornton Structure Fire

On July 22nd, 2026 at 19:37 Thornton Fire Department, North Metro Fire Rescue District and Westminster Fire Department responded to possible structure fire in the 2100 block of W. 100th Ave. in Thornton. Engine 72 arrived on scene of a working garage fire and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack to the garage with Medic 72. Engine 72 secured their own water supply and Battalion 62 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy and requested a major incident tone. Crews found active fire in the garage which was quickly put under control. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
