Station 10 Open House

On August 8th, 2026 West Metro Fire Rescue held an open house at Station 10, 3535 S. Kipling St. in Bear Creek. The community came out to meet the firefighters, tour the station and fire engines and information about fire safety. Station 10 is part of the West Metro Technical Rescue Team and is also co-located with the Training Center and Colorado Task Force 1 (Urban Search & Rescue). The WMFR open houses also help to show how much the coasts are for the department from the turnout gear and SCBA to radios, helmets, tools, and all the other equipment they rely on every day including training, outfitting a single West Metro firefighter costs nearly $50,000. It’s one of the biggest behind-the-scenes investments they make-before a firefighter ever responds to a single call. Like everything else, the cost of this lifesaving equipment continues to rise.
