Jeffco Open Space Brush Truck

Jefferson County Open Space Park Rangers have a new brush truck on Lookout Mountain. Brush 50, a 2014 Ford F-550 was officially placed into service about a month ago. 52080Fire caught up with Ranger Justin Doty and checked out the new truck on July 31st, 2022. The unit was obtained from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Fire Management Team and is stationed at the Lookout Mountain Nature Center. Park Rangers will respond with the the unit to brush fires on Open Space property and any property adjacent to theirs within the county. Three Rangers are currently trained to use the truck which responded to its first call on July 17th, 2022, when it assisted Foothills Fire Protection District with the Bruin Bluff Fire in Lair O’ the Bear Park.
