Carbondale Open House

On October 10th, 2020 Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District held their annual community open house COVID safety style at Station 81. The Semi-Open house was limited to outdoor activities, demonstrations, apparatus in the bays, lunch, and public education materials. The department made the open house possible by tracking all visitors with a sign-in sheet to aid in contact tracing. Crews performed an extrication demo with the help of Craig Fire & Safety who provided new Holmatro Pentheon tool demos. A rappelling demonstration was performed from Ladder 81 for citizens to view. The department had their new Braun NW ambulances out for the public to view along side their new BFX type 6 wildland engine. Classic Air Medical (Classic 11) stopped by with their traditional helicopter landing for an Anti-Touch viewing and education. Sparky the Fire Dog was also on hand.
