Front Range Airport ARFF
Front Range Airport is located at 5200 Front Range Parkway, just north of Watkins. The general aviation airport began operations in 1984 and sits on 3,349 acres of land, surrounded by 6,000 open acres. Front Range Airport features the tallest general aviation airport control tower and two 8,000 foot runways. Front Range continues to actively pursue the FAA designation of Spaceport, allowing for horizontal or vertical launch.
In 2010 the airport began a partnership with Bennett Fire Protection District to assist in staffing the ARFF station & apparatus. In February of 2013 the Airport announced the program would be suspended due to financial constraints.
In 2018 Front Range Airport became the Colorado Air & Space Port ARFF.
Bennett-Watkins Fire Rescue District has a mutual-aid agreement as needed.
