Cherry Hills Fire Department

Cherry Hills Fire Department (CHFD), covered 9 square miles in Arapahoe County (Colorado) and included the areas of Cherry Hills Country Club, Cherry Hills East, Cherry Hills Village, Country Homes, Devonshire, Greenwood Village, High Line Canal, Little Dry Creek, Mansfield Heights, Martin Farm, North Charlou, Southmoor Vista & Village Center.

Cherry Hills Fire Department was founded in 1941 t was the first fire protection district in the State of Colorado. In 1964 the department hired its first two full-time firefighters and opened their first station, previously they paid the City of Englewood to house the firefighters in an Englewood station. 

Cherry Hills Fire District joined Castlewood Fire Protection District in 1989, and in 1999 Castlewood changed the name to South Metro Fire Rescue.
