Rifle Fire Protection District

Rifle Fire Protection District (RFPD), founded in 1907 and covered 316 square miles in Garfield County including the towns and areas of Colorado River, Fravert Reservoir, Garfield County Fairgrounds, Rifle Falls, Rifle Gap State Park & Rifle Reservoir.

Rifle Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1907 and in 1976 as the the Rifle Fire Protection District. The Rifle Fire Protection District and Burning Mountains Fire Protection District as a joint effort joined together in 2012 to form the Colorado River Fire Rescue.

Station 1 – Downtown Rifle
Station 2 – Rifle Airport
Station 3 – South Rifle
