Burning Mountains Fire Protection District

Burning Mountains Fire Protection District (BMFPD), founded in  and covers 382 square miles in Garfield County including the towns and areas of Alkali Creek, Colorado River, Apple Tree, Divide Creek, Dry Hollow, Garfield Creek State Wildlife Area, Lakota Canyon, New Castle & Silt.

Burning Mountains Fire Protection District and the Rifle Fire Protection District as a joint effort joined together in 2012 to form the Colorado River Fire Rescue Authority.

Station 1 – Silt
Station 2 – New Castle
Station 3 – Apple Tree
Station 4 – Lakota Canyon
