Poudre Valley Fire Protection District (PVFPD), located in Larimer County (Colorado), and formed by the Fort Collins Rural Protective Association in 1938 to provide fire protection to rural areas surrounding the city of Fort Collins, before becoming the Poudre Valley Fire Protection District (PVFPD) in 1950. Poudre Valley Fire Protection District and Fort Collins Fire Department (Colorado) merged to form the Poudre Fire Authority (Colorado) in 1981.
