Western Hills Fire Protection District
Western Hills Fire Protection District (WHFPD), was formed in 1974 and is a special district responsible for providing fire protection to certain areas to the north, east and south of Greeley in Weld County (Colorado). The District currently provides fire protection through a contract with the City of Greeley Fire Department. (FDID #12378)
The district served the area from one fire station that was located and became Greeley Fire Department (Colorado) Station 6, which was used as a support / storage station.
Union Colony Fire Rescue Authority was founded in 1997 when an intergovernmental agreement was reached which merged the Greeley Fire Department and the Western Hills Fire Protection District, and the named changed back to Greeley Fire Department in 2011.
