CareFlight of the Rockies was founded in 1976 and is located at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Garfield County and Grand Junction airports, & Montrose Memorial Hospital. St. Mary’s Airlife operated out of Grand Junction at St. Mary’s Hospital until it changed names and became Careflight of the Rockies. In November 2012, Air Methods has taken over operations of the fixed-wing and is providing a Eurocopter AS350.
