Denver Duplex Fire

Just after 11:00 on June 13th, 2026 Denver Fire Department was dispatched to structure fire in the 3000 block of W. Custer Place in the Westwood neighborhood. First arriving Engine 25 laid in from S. Hazel Court & W. Custer Place and found smoke showing from a boarded up single-story duplex. Tower 23 assumed command, opened up and initiated searches. Engine 23 laid in from W. Center Ave. and Federal Blvd. and Engine 20 laid in from W. Virginia Ave. and Federal Blvd. Two attack lines were placed into operation, Truck 12 opened up the roof, Rescue 1 opened the soffit and Tower 1 was RIT. All searches were clear and the incident was quickly placed under control. No injuries occurred and Arson was called to the scene.
