Fort Lupton Engine 2601 Push-In Ceremony
On April 11th, 2026 the Fort Lupton Fire Protection District welcomed it’s newest engine into service. This engine, a 2026 Pierce Velocity, is equipped with a 1,000 gallon water tank, 20 gallon foam cell, Husky 3 foam system and 1,500 gallon per minute Pierce PUC pump. This engine will serve the community of Fort Lupton from Station 1. Fort Lupton Fire hosted a traditional push-in ceremony to welcome to engine and members from the District Board, Interim Fire Chief, and a truck committee representative all spoke about this engine and what it means to the community. After this was completed, firefighters joined in pushing the new engine into the station, a centuries old tradition that ties back to when fire engines were horse-drawn and could not reverse into the station.
