Scappoose Rural Fire Protection District

Scappoose Rural Fire Protection District (SRFPD), established in 1954 and located in Columbus County (Oregon) including the areas of Alder Creek, Brush Creek, Cedar Creek, Chapman, Chapman Landing, Coal Creek, Holbrook, Jackson Creek, James O Fisher Reservoir, Jones Creek, Joy Creek, Lizzie Creek, Multnomah Channel, Round Lake, Scappoose, Scappoose Airport, Scappoose Creek, Spitzenberg, Warren & Woods Pond.

Scappoose Rural Fire Protection District was originally founded in 1915 as the Scappoose Fire Department. In 1979 a vote for a consolidation with the Scappoose Rural Fire Protection District was held and passed, both City of Scappoose Fire Department and the Scappoose Rural Fire Protection District merged to become the Scappoose Rural Fire Protection District in 1980.

Scappoose Rural Fire Protection District covers 52 square miles of the fire protection area and 100 square mile of the ambulance service area.

Scappoose Rural Fire Protection District is also known as the Scappoose Fire District (SFD).

Scappoose Fire District and the Columbia River Fire & Rescue have been in talks with an agreement to merge since 2020 to form a fire authority.

Scappoose Rural Fire Protection District is dispatched by the Columbia 9-1-1 Communications District (C911CD).
