South Metro Commercial Fire

At 17:12 on February 14th, 2025 South Metro Emergency Communications dispatched South Metro Fire Rescue to a smoke investigation fire 96 Inverness Drive E. in unincorporated Arapahoe County. Tower 35 arrived on scene and reported smoke coming from the structure and the call was upgraded to a confirmed commercial structure fire. Firefighters felt heat coming from a door of one of the units and made entry into the building, locating a fire inside. After putting water on the fire, they checked for extension into the neighboring units. The fire was contained to one unit with no extension, but smoke damaged the affected unit and created minor damages in the adjacent units. Firefighters used fans to ventilate the structure and remained on scene to monitor smoke levels inside the building. SMFR Fire Investigators determined the fire originated in the copier/server room of the affected unit. Fire barriers in between the occupancies kept the fire from extending further.
