Arvada Garage/Shed Fire

At 10:18 on June 26th, 2025 Arvada Fire Protection District responded to reported structure fire in the 7800 block of Reed St. Jeffcom 911 received multiple calls with flames and smoke showing from a garage/shed with propane tanks inside and possibly exploding. Engine 55 arrived on scene to a confirmed working structure fire from a detached garage and shed behind the residence and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack with Medic 55. Engine 55 secured their own water supply and Battalion 52 assumed command in the offensive strategy. Engine 51 pulled a 2nd line and the primary search.  The fire was contained within 10 minutes and protected exposures to neighboring structures. All residents and their pets were able to safely evacuate from the home. The home did have some siding that had melted but did not experience fire or smoke damage from the garage. The American Red Cross was dispatched to provide resources to the residents. The cause and origin of this fire is under investigation.
