Arvada West 62nd Ave Structure Fire
Arvada Attic Fire
On May 11th, 2025 at 09:27 Arvada Fire Protection District and West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the 6500 block of W. 62nd Ave. Truck 54 arrived to a small single-story single-family residence with a working fire from the attic and started the primary search while Engine 51 secured the water supply. Battalion 51 arrived and assumed command and Medic 51 assigned as medical. Truck 54 completed a gable cut, a horizontal ventilation on gable-end walls to release superheated gases and smoke, while Engine 51 applied water in the attic space. Primary and secondary searches confirmed that the house was unoccupied. With several void spaces in the attic, firefighters also conducted vertical ventilation and a thorough overhaul to ensure no active fire was left in the attic. The fire was quickly put under control and crews worked on overhaul. Arvada Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire to be accidental and the result of a doorbell transformer malfunction.
