Aurora Vegetation Fire

Around 17:45 on March 14th, 2025 Aurora Fire Rescue and South Metro Fire Rescue responded to numerous reports of a vegetation fire burning in the open space southwest of 6875 S. Chambers Way. Upon arrival, Engine 42 reported a large fire brush moving at a slow rate of spread, and advanced a progressive hose lay for direct attack. South Metro Battalion Chief 5 assumed command, Aurora Battalion Chief 4 was assigned as a division supervisor and Safety 2 as the incident safety officer. Additional crews made mobile access with Type III and Type VI engines and assisted with direct attack. The fire was contained to an area approximately 0.5 acres in size and no structures were threatened. Sawyers fell several burning trees and worked on extinguishment past sunset. No injuries occurred and the cause is under investigation. Additional information proved by Aurora Fire Rescue
