Cascade Wildfire Mitigation Project

The Cascade Volunteer Fire Department, El Paso County Wildland Fire Management and the Pikes Peak Highway Wildland Fire Team held a wildland fire mitigation event at the North Pole April 21st, 2025 to April 27th, 2025. The Cascade, Green Mountain Falls and Chipita Park communities were encouraged to cut back brush around their homes to mitigate damage in the event of a wildfire and bring the debris to the North Pole where firefighters collected the items for disposal or conversion into mulch. 5280Fire caught up with Cascade firefighters on April 26th, 2025.
