
Castle Rock Canyon Drive Commercial Structure Fire
Castle Rock Elementary School Fire
At 02:10 on August 2nd, 2025 Castle Rock Fire & Rescue Department Quint 151 and Engine 154 were dispatched to a commercial fire alarm at Castle Rock Elementary School, 1103 Canyon Drive. Upon arrival, Quint 151 found a detached mobile classroom with smoke showing and upgraded the response to a working commercial structure fire. Quint 151 assumed command, conducted a 360º and pulled a 1 3/4 line into the Alpha side for the primary search and fire control. The mobile structure is configured in a split classroom design and the left side (Bravo) was the unit of origin. Engine 154 completed a water supply to Quint 151, Battalion 151 assumed incident command and assigned Medic 151 to a primary search in the Delta side classroom where they found no fire extension. Engine 154 advanced a back up line into the fire unit, Quint 155 conducted horizontal ventilation, Engine 152 assigned RIT, Medic 154 was incident medical and Engine 153 was placed on-deck. Safety 151 assumed the incident safety officer role, conducted a secondary 360º verifying there was no basement, electrical utilities were controlled and no gas utilities were observed. South Metro District Chief 1 assisted with accountability and command. A fire in the drop ceiling was located and quickly controlled within a few minutes and companies conducted salvage and overhaul. A fire investigator was called to the scene and cause is being determined.
