South Metro Commercial Fire

At 01:11 on August 14th, 2025 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported commercial structure fire at 11001 E. Arapahoe Place in Centennial. Dispatch advised that 911 caller reporting smoke and flames inside the building as well as Arapahoe County Sheriff deputies and the call was upgraded to a confirmed commercial structure fire. Tower 35 arrived to a working commercial fire from a small single-story strip mall containing four businesses and smoke showing from the roof. Engine 31 arrived and secured the water supply and pulled a 2 1/2 for fire attack with Medic 31. Battalion 3 arrived and took command in the offensive strategy on the Alpha side and assigned Medic 32 with medical. Crews found fire inside the kitchen area of the Bawarchin Indian Cuisine which had significant fire damage to the kitchen and roof. Three other businesses sustained smoke and water damage. Due to the extent of the damage, the City of Centennial’s building inspector has deemed the property uninhabitable, and all four businesses will remain closed until further notice. Arapahoe County Sheriff deputies found a rear door open but noted no signs of forced entry or suspicious activity. The fire was put under control by 02:53 but crews worked on an extended overhaul on hot spots. No injuries were reported.
