South Adams 2nd Alarm Fire

On November 4th, 2025 just before 14:00 South Adams County Fire Department, Adams County Fire Rescue and Platte Valley Ambulance responded to a possible structure fire at 6950 Hwy. 2. Crews en route reported heavy smoke in the air and to requested working fire tones. Engine 22 arrived to a single-wide trailer with a working fire and pulled a attack line. The fire was extending into three more trailers and a 2nd alarm was requested. Rescue 23 started the primary searches and Battalion 21 arrived and assumed command. Tower 24 arrived and assisted Rescue 23 with the searches. Engine 13 pulled an attack line to the trailer on the north for fire attack. Crews worked heavy fire conditions before it was put under control quickly and the rest of the 2nd alarm response was cancelled. The fire burned four mobile home units and Highway 2 was closed during the incident. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.
