Denver Explosion / Fire
On March 12th, 2025 around 11:30 Denver Fire Department responded to an possible structure fire with explosion at 2445 S. Quebec St. Crews arrived to find a large assisted living facility with smoke showing and started the investigation. Crews found an explosion inside with fire and started fire attack and search. 87 people were displaced and 10 were transported to local hospitals. The building was secured and boarded up to protect property. The American Red Cross was requested to secure temporary housing for the displaced residents. Denver Fire reported that construction work at the retirement campus led to the transformer fire with the explosion, during the work, a power line was struck accidentally leading to the incident.
