Jefferson County Highway 285 Multi-Vehicle Accident

West Metro Trapped MVA

On July 21st, 2025 at 05:17 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a possible MVA on Hwy. 285, just north of the Hwy. 8 exit in Morrison. District 2 arrived in command to a multi-vehicle high speed head-on MVA on Hwy. 285. Crews worked an extended extrication of patients in two vehicles. Five people were injured from three separated vehicles, three were taken in critical condition to local hospitals. One of the patients passed away later at the hospital. Northbound Hwy 285 was closed during the incident. The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the crash. Additional information provided by Colorado State Patrol & West Metro Fire Rescue
