West Metro House Fire

On July 19th, 2025 around 13:15 West Metro Fire Rescue and South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 6500 block of S. Flower St. Engine 12 arrived to a working fire with heavy smoke and flames showing from a small single-story single-family residents, pulled a 1 3/4 to the Alpha side for fire attack with Medic 12. District 3 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy and assigned Engine 13 to the primary search, South Metro Engine 13 with the water supply to Engine 12 and South Metro Medic 13 as medical. The fire extended into the attic space and Truck 14 went to the roof for vertical ventilation. The fire was put under control within 20 minutes and crews started overhaul. The residents were able to get out without injury. The fire caused severe damage that compromised the structure’s integrity. Jefferson County’s Building Safety Department declared the home uninhabitable, a total loss. American Red Cross was requested. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
