West Metro Converted Garage Fire

On May 10th, 2025 at 20:21 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the area of Allison St. and W. 10th Ave. in Lakewood. Jeffcom advised of several 911 callers reporting smoke and flames coming from the structure on the southwest corner and Engine 1 reported smoke in the air from W. 14th Ave. and Pierce St. and to attach a third medic. Engine 1 arrived to a working garage fire and pulled a 1 3/4 with Medic 1 and Medic 11 for fire attack and search. Engine 3 secured the water supply to Engine 1 and Medic 2 assigned as medical. District 1 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy. The fire was put under control but crews worked on an extensive overhaul and investigation. The garage was converted into a living space, but no one was home at the time of the fire. A neighboring home sustained some damage from heat exposure. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
