On July 25th, 2025 at 05:01 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to an abandoned building in the 1400 block of Lamar St. in Lakewood. Jeffcom 911 received several 911 callers reporting smoke and active flames showing from the same structure that was compromised by multiple earlier fires. Engine 1 arrived with active fire and smoke from a one-story building and pulled 1 3/4 on the Alpha side with defensive attack and secure their own water supply at W. Colfax Ave. and Lamer St. Tower 2 arrived and started master stream operations for defensive operations. The fire was put under control quickly but crews remained on scene for an extended time with overhaul and hot spots. This morning’s fire was the fourth fire this week at the location. The building had been boarded up, but some of the plywood had been removed. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
