West Metro Structure Fire

On March 3rd, 2025 at approximately 11:20 West Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire in the 6500 block of W. 13th Ave. in Lakewood. SAM 1 arrived on scene first and reported smoke showing from the Charlie side of the building. Crews found a small fire in the garden level of the building and was contained in a storage locker that put out a fair bit of smoke and a burning plastic smell. Crews were on scene about an hours checking for extension and ventilating the building. The fire was caused by accidental from a spark from a welder’s torch. No injuries were reported.
