West Metro Rekindle Apartment Fire
At 21:24 on November 15th, 2025 Jeffcom 911 dispatched West Metro Fire Rescue to a rekindle structure fire in the 6400 block of 13th Ave. in Lakewood. SAM 1 arrived to a medium size two-story apartment complex with a working fire from the Charlie side and Engine 1 arrived and pulled 1 3/4 for fire attack with Medic 1 and Engine 3. Engine 2 started the primary searches and Engine 16 secured the water supply to Engine 1. District 1 assumed command in the offensive strategy and assigned Medic 11 as medical. Tower 2 and Tower 8 both went to the roof for vertical ventilations. The fire was put under control at 21:55 and crews started more overhaul on hot spots. The original fire (Lakewood West 13th Ave Working Apartment Fire) left more than a foot of burned and collapsed debris on the floor of two adjacent apartments with firefighters doing multiple checks before clearing the scene. Firefighters searched the unit visually, overhauled burned material, and used a thermal imaging camera to look for hidden hot spots, as well as, applied additional water to areas of concern. In the hours afterword, crews drove by and stop to check the area again to make sure conditions were still stable. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
