West Metro Cooking Fire

On December 4th, 2025 at 9:55 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire in the 5800 block of W. Alameda Ave. at the Fifty Eight Hundred Apartments in Lakewood. Jeffcom 911 advised that 911 caller reported heavy smoke on the 3rd floor. Engine 7 arrived to a large four-story apartment building with fire alarms and evacuations in progress and started the investigation with Medic 7. District 2 arrived on scene and assumed command on the Alpha side. Crews found a small cooking fire in one of the apartment units which was quickly controlled and all units were put back in service.
