On September 15th, 2025 at 23:32 West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 8 dispatched to an inside smoke investigation at the Villa Manor Care Center, 7950 W. Mississippi Ave. in Lakewood. The call was upgraded to a possible structure fire with heavy smoke coming from a vent. Engine 8 arrived to a large two-story elderly care facility and started the investigation at the main entrance. Engine 3 arrived and assisted crews inside, Engine 7 setup for the water supply and Tower 8 went to the roof. Crews detected a light haze in the hallway, which was slowly dissipating and the area of the haze was evacuated. District 2 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy. After further investigation, it was determined that an HVAC unit caused the smoke and the scene was turned over to the property owner. No injuries reported.
