West Metro Structure Fire

On February 1st, 2025 at 18:18 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the 5400 block of W. Mississippi Ave. in Lakewood. Jeffcom received multiple calls reporting flames showing from a boarded up home. Engine 7 arrived to a confirmed structure fire from a single-family with smoke and flames from the Charlie side, and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack and search with Medic 7. Engine 8 secured the water supply to Engine 7 and Engine 3 pulled a 2nd 1 3/4 line in. Medic 8 assigned with medical and District 2 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy. The primary searches were all-clear on all floors and the fire was put under control with crews starting overhaul. The abandoned structure was believed to have people inside sheltering.
