Padroni Outbuilding Fire

At 16:30 on March 10th, 2024, the Sterling Emergency Communications Center dispatched the Sterling Fire Department to the town of Padroni for a possible vehicle and/or grass fire. While units were responding they observed a large black smoke column coming from the area and requested Peetz Fire Protection District for mutual-aid. On scene, fire crews discovered a shed containing tires had caught fire with extension grass and debris. Engine 12 pulled an attack line and quickly knocked down the fire. Once the fire was under control crews began overhaul of the shed and debris. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
