Adams County House Fire

On September 4th, 2025 at 22:55 Adams County Fire Rescue, Westminster Fire Department and Federal Heights Fire Department was alert to a residential structure fire in the 7800 block of Vallejo St. in the Sherrelwood neighborhood. Battalion 11 arrived to a working residential fire from the Charlie side of a single-story with flames through the roof with a possible vehicle involved and requested a major incident tone. Engine 1 arrived and pulled a 1 3/4 line in for fire attack and the primary search and Medic 11 pulled a 2nd line in. Engine 2 established the water supply to Engine 1 and crews found a power line down in the backyard and Xcel was requested. Crews worked in heavy fire conditions in the basement, garage and the attic space and the fire was changed over to defensive operations. The fire was put under control just after midnight and crews worked on overhaul. The homeowner was alerted by neighbors and was able to get out of the home with his dog before fire crews arrived. There were no reported injuries and cause of the fire is under investigation. Additional information provided by Adams County Fire Rescue
