Sterling Commercial Structure Fire

On April 23rd, 2025 at approximately 02:30 the Sterling Fire Department was dispatched to a fire on the roof of a commercial structure. Arriving officers from the Sterling Police Department reported a working fire. Sterling Fire requested mutual aid from Merino Volunteer Fire Department due to the size of the structure and the location of the fire. First arriving crews were able to locate a fire in a vent and quickly extinguished it. Firefighters utilized the aerial device on Tower 18 to achieve access to the roof and check for extension.
