
Thornton Saint Paul Street 2nd Alarm Fire
Thornton Structure Fire
On November 13th, 2025 at approximately 23:30 Thornton Fire Department North Metro Fire Rescue District and Westminster Fire Department to a reported structure fire in the 11900 block of Saint Paul St. Dispatch advised that Thornton Police Officers on scene reporting with all occupants evacuated and the structure fully engulfed with animals still inside. Engine 73 arrived to a small single-story single-family with active fire and extending to an adjacent residence and pulled 1 3/4 for the primary search and fire attack. Battalion 71 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy and assigned Truck 74 to pulled a 2nd line off Engine 73 to the Charlie, Medic 63 as medical and Engine 75 with the water supply. Command requested a major incident tone and additional medic to the scene. Due to fire conditions a 2nd alarm was struck and then shortly after the fire went into defensive operations. Crews worked heavy smoke and fire with several water supplies and attack lines that were deployed before the fire was put under control and crews started an extended overhaul and investigation. Both homes sustained significant damage and deemed uninhabitable. The American Red Cross responded to assist with housing and immediate needs. Sadly, several pets were found deceased. The morning of November 14th, 2025, two puppies were rescued, crews provided care to one puppy and the other one is doing well. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
